FAQs

What is occupational therapy?

Occupational therapy helps people build or regain the skills needed for everyday life — from managing pain and daily tasks to supporting development, recovery, and independence. How OT is different from PT: While physical therapy often focuses on restoring movement and strength, occupational therapy takes a broader, whole-person approach, addressing how your body, mind, and daily routines work together.

What ages do you work with?

We works with clients across the full lifespan — from young children to older adults. Whatever stage of life you're in, care is tailored to your specific goals.

What should I expect at my first session?

Your first session starts with a conversation — we'll talk through your goals, history, and what "feeling better" looks like for you, before building a plan tailored specifically to your needs. We will then proceed with whichever service you booked.

Is dry needling painful?

Dry needling isn't meant to feel relaxing, and you should expect some muscle reaction during treatment. It shouldn't be unbearably painful, though mild soreness afterward is normal and typically fades within a day or two.

What's the difference between CranioSacral Therapy and Manual Lymphatic Drainage?

Both are gentle, hands-on techniques, but they work differently. CranioSacral Therapy supports the body's natural healing rhythms through light touch across the head and spine. Manual Lymphatic Drainage (Vodder technique) uses slow, rhythmic strokes to support fluid movement through the lymphatic system. Neither should feel like a deep-tissue massage.

Is Manual Lymphatic Drainage safe for lymphedema?

No — the Vodder technique offered at Be Well is intended for general wellness and relaxation, not lymphedema treatment. If you've been diagnosed with lymphedema or a related condition, we recommend seeing a certified lymphedema therapist (CLT) for specialized care.

What happens during a telehealth or custom wellness plan session?

These are consultative sessions, not virtual treatment. We'll help you navigate things like adaptive equipment, aging-in-place planning, or finding the right specialist, and build a concrete plan you can act on.

Where are you located?
